HAVE YOUR SAY ON URBAN HEAT ISLAND!

Have you heard of the Urban Heat Island (UHI) effect? Do you know of its relation to the climate crisis and its impact on residents’ health and especially on the health of vulnerable groups in urban areas? The European project LIFE ASTI studied the research data of UHI identified in 3 European cities, Thessaloniki, Rome, and Heraklion, and created a short-term forecast system that warns citizens and visitors of urban centers about the heat load during hot days. The LIFE ASTI project also developed a questionnaire to assess citizens’ awareness on the UHI effect and to investigate their intention to change their habits to effectively address the problem. Your participation in this research is valuable for the scientific work of the researchers working on the UHI effect.
