A very interesting educational event will take place on Thursday, March 17th at 09:15am at the municipal council meeting hall of the Municipality of Thessaloniki, as part of the LIFE ASTI project. The event titled “LIFE ASTI – Implementation of a forecasting System for urban heat island effect for the development of urban adaptation strategies” will be hailed by Vice Mayor in charge of Economics and Urban Resilience of the Municipality of Thessaloniki Mr. Michail Koupkas, the Vice Mayor in charge of Environmental Issues, Green Spaces, and Volunteering of the Municipality of Pavlos Melas, Mr.Sakis Lazaridis and Professor Dimitris Melas of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. The event will entail a brief presentation of the achievements of Life Asti so far, a presentation of the Life Asti Electronic Platform, a presentation of the assessment report on the development of the urban heat island phenomenon enon as well as training sessions on the use of the platform and the mobile app. Mr. Alexandros Deliyannis of Sympraxis Team will present international good practices. Last but not least, the municipal action plan to tackle the Urban Heat Island phenomenon will be resented.
